A truckload of 33 pallets of high-calorie specialized nutrition and essential medical supplies has now arrived in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. The shipment was dispatched and managed by Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen/Wings of Help (LOG/WoH), the Frankfurt-based aid organization that responded to a plea for help from Lviv and decided to send the supplies for children in dire need. The food and equipment were destined for the children’s cancer clinic in Lviv, where over one hundred children suffering from cancer and autoimmune diseases are being treated. Most of the children come from conflict zones in eastern Ukraine.
The donation was enthusiastically received by the clinic staff, as it fits perfectly into the comprehensive nutritional program for the young patients. The delivered food will provide crucial support for the children’s nutrition for the next two months. The aid will also benefit the clinic’s mobile hospice service, which operates within a 130-kilometer radius of Lviv, providing care to patients in their homes. This dedicated service also trains parents on the proper handling of the food. Another portion of the supplies from this shipment will benefit polyclinics in Dnipro (central Ukraine) and sick children in the city of Kryvyi Rih. The shipment was a large-scale collaboration between LOG/WoH and TMR Refugee Aid Ukraine-Berlin e.V. The aid operation was coordinated and carried out by Karsten Fuhrken (TMR Refugee Aid) and Alex Kraus (LOG/WoH). Since the outbreak of the war just over four years ago, LOG/WoH has organized 230 truckloads of aid to Ukraine.
