Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen /Wings of Help looks after more children in camps in Kurdistan – Cooperation with the Barzani Charity Foundation strengthened
Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen/Wings of Help (LOG/WoH) e.V., which has been committed to the large number of refugees in northern Iraq for over a decade, has taken on further direct sponsorships for children in refugee camps: The godchildren Ali (eight years old, picture)) and Azra ( 12, picture) can rely on sustainable support from LOG/WoH from the Frankfurt/Main based organihmen. zation, which extends to the education and training of the two young people. LOG/WoH has been looking after the girl Ruqaya in the Erbil region for over eight years, who lost her entire family in the IS war. LOG/WoH is working on this project with the renowned Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF), which looks after around a million refugees in a total of 32 camps in Kurdistan (Image: Barsima camp). LOG(WoH board member Marie-Luise Thüne, who looks after the two young people, and LOG/WoH President Frank Franke, have now sealed the increased cooperation with BCF in the capital Erbil (picture).
On the same occasion, the board handed over additional computers to a school in the Dohuk refugee camp that works with the local American university through the Barzani Charity Foundation. “Northern Iraq and the camps near the capital Erbil, with two million inhabitants alone, have been very close to our hearts for years. We are pleased to have such a strong partner in BCF, whose job it is to care for refugees within this difficult region. And we continually make a special individual contribution to this help – and we and our supporters in Germany are very proud of that,” said Marie-Luise Thüne after returning from Erbil.
