“Citizen Award 2019” to Wings of Help

“Our society would be much poorer if there were no volunteer engagements,” said the laudatory speech at Wings of Help / Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen e.V. as the charitable aid organization for its many years of service to people in need around the world received a high award: The “Citizen Award 2019 Heroes of everyday Life” was given in Bad Homburg to Frank Franke, president and founder of Wings of Help and his team, which creates “committed prospects for the future”, according to the motto of this year’s award. With this, the organization received also a financial contribution. The District Administrator of the Hochtaunuskreis, Ulrich Krebs, praised the high and immediate commitment of the organization, whose base at Frankfurt Airport has brought aid worth 130 million euros and a total volume of more than 6,000 tons to people in catastrophic regions since its founding in 2003.

Frank Franke thanked for this “not ordinary recognition for the hero of everyday life” and referred to the advantages that Wings of Help has in conjunction with its location directly at the airport: A base that is ideally created to deliver fast – and almost every day – help to people in need.
