Humanitarian aid for Mozambique continues

Wings of Help/Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen e.V. brings special nutrition for malnourished children as well as sportswear and computers for teenagers to Maputo

A large supply of children’s special food and sportswear as well as shoes for needy young people brought the German aid organization Wings of Help / Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen e.V.  these days in the Mozambican capital Maputo and to the cyclone-stricken areas in eastern Mozambique. The goal is to help around 3,000 malnourished children with over 10,000 nutritional units and to employ street children in Maputo through sports equipment. The street kids call themselves “Football Boys and Girls” and now have sustainable training opportunities in the Hulene School of Maputo with a total of 850 other children. The relief deliveries are part of a broad humanitarian program launched by the Frankfurt-based aid organization for Mozambique’s first-hit regions since April 2019.

In addition to medical and drug deliveries in Spring Wings of Help / Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen e.V. sent now also 40 computers to build a computer class in Maputo. There they have been installed at the foundation “Tiri Pamodzi Foundation” (Translated: “We belong together”). Young people should receive new perspectives for the future via “Tiri Pamodzi” with various educational programs. The computer delivery from Germany is part of the program “Education is Future “Wings of Help / Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen e.V. developed for needy young people. The handing over of the relief supplies was personally accompanied by the managing director of the organization Frank Franke: “We are very pleased that we can directly help needy people on site with these measures. This is especially possible because of our close cooperation with the former Prime Minister of Mozambique, Luisa Dias Diogo, who is heavily involved in social projects in her country. “
