Europe shows great solidarity with Spain

International aid for the flood victims – Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen/Wings of Help brings power generators, drinking water and food for children to the disaster area of Valencia

After the massive storm disaster in Spain, Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen/Wings of Help (LOG/WoH) brought urgently needed drinking water, power generators and baby food to the flooded regions near Valencia. Drinking water in particular is lacking everywhere, as preparing baby food is difficult due to the contaminated water. A truck-trailer with 22 tons of relief supplies arrived in Valencia from Germany at the weekend, where LOG/WoH has rented a warehouse from which the distribution of the relief supplies is coordinated. The distribution is carried out in cooperation with the Iberian partner organization Aviation sans Frontières (ASF International), to which LOG/WoH and eight other relief organizations in Europe belong.

Frank Franke, LOG/WoH President: “We are experiencing a great solidarity in Europe, which is being initiated decisively from Germany.” Marie-Luise Thüne, the General Secretary of ASF International and also a member of the board of LOG/WoH: “Our umbrella organization coordinates relief supplies from ten different countries. This shows the advantages that ASF offers as a European relief organization.” Gorka Imizcoz, President of Aviación Sin Fronteres in Spain, spoke of “overwhelming willingness to help in an extremely difficult time.” LOG/WoH is accompanying the deliveries to Valencia with its own team and will work with its partners on site to provide further assistance. Determine the need and then organize a second transport to Spain.
